Ian Mathers - LakeFront Data Associate
Ian brings to Lakefront over 20 years of experience in professional IT and data management most recently with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) as a senior IT / data partner in Credit Risk, Ops Risk and Compliance. Prior to RBC, Ian led the Project Management Improvement Program for the Reuters’ Toronto Database Development (formerly I.P. Sharp Associates) and manager for Reuters’ Master Reference Database (MRD), the central data mart of all securities reference data for the vast Reuters Historical Databases. Prior to Reuters, Ian was responsible for the software development in the creation & implementation of Securities Valuation (SVC), a total solutions provider of securities data implemented as a joint venture between Financial Models (FMC) and Financial Post Data Group. Ian has vast practical implementation experience in data architecture, projects, methods and best practices. He has demonstrated results in development, implementation and support of enterprise financial applications and databases and has been certified by PMI as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a trained CMM Assessor.
Ed Ventura - LakeFront Data Associate
Mr. Ventura comes to LDV with over twenty years of experience in financial services management. Most recently Ed was the Senior Product Manager of Asset Data Services for SEI, where he led the strategy and sourcing for redistribution and consumption of pricing and reference data. While at SEI, Ed led the development of a revised business strategy that provided SEI with a competitive advantage in its data redistribution business. Prior to SEI Mr. Ventura was principal of Ventura Management Associates LLC providing consulting services on portfolio reporting to retail financial services firms. Ed’s background also includes various roles in the US and International private client businesses for Merrill Lynch, where he developed a client statement recognized as best-in-class by Smart Money and Kiplinger’s. He has published articles in e.bill magazine and has contributed to stories recently published in Inside Reference Data. Due to Mr. Ventura’s expertise in data management, he has served on the Consumer Constituency Group of Financial Information Systems Division (FISD) of the Securities Information Industry Association (SIIA) as well as on the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Council in various working groups and committees. His views are sought out at industry forums, on panels, and at trade shows. Mr. Ventura received his BA and MPA degrees from C.W. Post College.
Paul Harrison - LakeFront Data Associate
Paul Harrison is an LDV Data Management Partner bringing deep expertise in the Enterprise Data Management space. As part of the LDV team, he is involved in a number of engagements in London, New York and Toronto. Paul is currently the Managing Director of Enterprise Data IT Services (EDITS) advising and managing EDM launches for tier one European Banks and Brokers. Prior to EDITS, Paul was VP with SunGard’s corporate EDM team working with the current LakeFront team of Dale Richards, Marc Odho and Rob Ord. In addition to his broad EDM background, Paul led SunGard’s strategic MiFID data effort. Prior to SunGard, Paul was VP Consulting for FAME Information Services heading European professional services including the Far East. Post SunGard’s acquisition of FAME, Paul was named global head of consulting. He led significant growth in FAME / SunGard’s consulting practice over 3 years specializing in financial market data warehouses and enterprise data distribution, clients ncluded Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Credit Agricole, Commerzbank, and Central banks in Europe. Paul expanded the consulting practice into Energy working with clients that included BP, Nuon, BHP Billiton and Ruhr Gas. Prior to FAME, Paul was head of IT at a quantitative analysis research house and hedge fund managing market data and application development for research. Paul holds a B.Sc., Microelectronics and Information Processing (Hons), an Investment Managers Certificate and is the author of several White Papers on EDM Outsourcing and Modeling Financial Data.
Carrie Pascal - LakeFront Associate
Carrie is an LDV Data Management Partner working with the LDV team bringing significant experience in operational risk, financial services software product & strategic planning. LDV is broadening the scope of EDM with Carrie as an expert partner in operational risk and related data management. She a successful software executive with experience conceptualizing, designing, building, and delivering software for leading financial services firms. Most recently she was Vice President of Product Management for BPS Inc., a software company providing operational risk management and compliance solutions for tier one Wall Street financial services firms. At BPS, Carrie led overall product strategy, ensuring the BPS platform met the needs of the worlds most demanding clients. Prior to BPS, Carrie spent several years running her own consulting shop working with Fortune 500 firms on software strategy, product management, process analysis and user interface design. Carrie honed her skills at Microsoft in Redmond, where she worked as a program manager on several successful consumer applications. She led all aspects of the product life cycle, including vision development, customer research, interface design, development, quality assurance, rollout, documentation and marketing.
